What’s In-Season? Fall Edition

Fall-ing in love with seasonal Michigan-grown produce

In Michigan, fall brings all kinds of delicious produce, like crisp apples, crunchy carrots, and tons of root vegetables. It can be hard to keep up with what fruits and veggies are in-season, so we made a chart (and a printable shopping list!) with seasonal, Michigan-grown produce to look out for next time you shop with Double Up.

P.S. We dreamed up some super-powered coloring book pages to get kids excited about fruits & veggies, too. Download them here.

Chart featuring seasonal Michigan-grown produce from October through December.

By buying and eating seasonal produce, we can support Michigan farmers, celebrate the changing seasons, and eat fruits and veggies at peak flavor. For more info on seasonal eating, check out this how-to guide from MSU Center for Regional Food Systems.

We love our Michigan roots! Root vegetables like beets, carrots, and potatoes aren’t just seasonal, they’re easy to prepare and store really well (which means they’re great to Double Up on!).
